The Way of the Cross: The Week That Holds Everything
WEEK SEVEN: THE FINAL THRESHOLD
This is the week where love does not flinch—where the story bends low into sorrow, silence, and surrender, and still walks forward.
“Having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.”
— John 13:1b
Introduction: Entering Passion Week
The road has been long.
We have walked through wilderness and weariness.
We have fasted, waited, tended embers, and named what aches.
We have sat with longing.
We have tasted silence.
We have remembered what it means to stay.
And now, we reach the final threshold.
Not the end, but the great unraveling.
The week where everything is laid bare—
where God does not turn away from suffering,
but steps into it,
bone by bone, breath by breath.
Palm branches have already been waved.
Hosannas already sung.
And still, the cross draws near.
This is Passion Week—the week that holds everything.
Betrayal and bread.
Silence and surrender.
Suffering and love that lingers through it all.
Let us not rush ahead to the empty tomb.
Let us walk slowly, tenderly, courageously
through the days that remake the world.
Here, we remember that resurrection does not come without descent.
Here, we stay with Him in the garden,
at the table,
on the road,
at the cross.
This is the week where love breaks open
and is poured out for all of us.
