Sunday: Out of the Depths

Psalm 130:1 — “Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord.”
John 11:43 — “Jesus called in a loud voice, ‘Lazarus, come out!’”

Sacred Invitation

There is a voice that calls us out of the grave.
Not with shame.
Not with force.
But with love so deep it weeps beside us.

Today we remember:
The God who breathes into bones
is the same God who stands outside our tomb
and speaks our name.

Daily Reflection

You’ve walked through the valley.
Named the ache.
Watched the bones rattle.
Waited for breath.
And now—you are being called forth.

It may not feel like resurrection.
There may still be grave clothes wrapped around you.
There may still be the scent of sorrow in the air.

But something in you is rising.

Lazarus didn’t resurrect himself.
He just listened.
And responded.

This is the quiet, trembling return to life.
Not because everything is healed—
but because love is stronger than death,
and the Spirit has not stopped calling your name.

Somatic Practice: Step Out Gently

Stand with both feet planted firmly.
Close your eyes and feel your weight settle.
Let your breath be slow and steady.

Imagine a threshold in front of you.
A quiet invitation to step forward.

When you’re ready, take one small step.
Then another.
Let it be simple.
Let it be sacred.

You don’t have to know where you’re going.
Just trust that love walks with you.

Whisper:
“I am being called forth.
I do not rise alone.”

Closing Prayer

God who calls us from the grave,
You do not flinch at death.
You do not rush resurrection.
You call us by name,
And wait as we learn to walk again.
Thank you for your gentleness.
Thank you for your power.
Let me live into this rising,
One breath, one step at a time.
Amen.
