TUESDAY: THE BODY KEEPS THE STORY

Theme: Where Does My Struggle Live in My Body?

Sacred Invitation: Listening to the Body’s Wisdom

Long before our minds understand, our bodies remember.

They hold the tension of past wounds, the weight of unresolved fears, the ache of longing.
Even our faith lives in our bodies—
the way we kneel in prayer,
the way our breath slows in stillness,
the way our hands reach out in need or praise.

Jesus did not carry his faith only in words.
He carried it in his body.
He wept. He touched. He walked. He knelt.
He broke bread. He lifted the cup.

His faith was not disembodied—it was incarnate, lived, felt.
And so is ours.

If we ignore the body, we ignore part of the story.
Today, we listen—not just to our thoughts,
but to the places in our bodies that carry something unspoken.

A Somatic Practice: Listening to the Body

Before the day takes hold, pause. Take a breath.

Close your eyes and scan your body from head to toe.

  • Where do you feel tension?

  • Where do you feel openness?

  • Where do you feel heavy?

Place a hand on the place that feels most present—
whether it is a clenched jaw, a tight chest, or a restless leg.
Simply notice it.

Whisper: "My body carries wisdom. I am listening."

Let this be your first prayer today—
not with words, but with presence.

Closing Reflection: Holding Ourselves with Kindness

As the day comes to a close, return to your body.

Find a posture of rest—
lying down, sitting with feet on the ground, curling into yourself.

Take a slow breath in.
As you exhale, whisper:

"I am still here. I am still listening."

Let your body soften.

Jesus carried faith in his body.
So do you.

Let that truth hold you tonight.
