Yet, the first step can be as simple as your next breath. Take a moment now:

  1. Sit Comfortably – Place your feet hip-distance apart on the floor, and scoot forward in your seat so you can feel your sit bones on the chair.

  2. Lengthen Your Spine – Lift through the crown of your head, relaxing your shoulders down.

  3. Settle Your Hands – Rest them on your knees or thighs.

  4. Breathe Deeply – Inhale slowly, then extend your exhale even longer.

  5. Notice Sensation – Continue this cycle of breathing and observe how your body feels in each moment.

This body-based practice is a window into the somatic therapy approach I use—one that integrates movement, breathwork, body awareness, and dialogue to guide you toward calm and wholeness. By tuning into your inner signals, you’ll learn to honor your body’s wisdom, find resilience in the face of stress, and rediscover the amazement of simply being alive.

Somatic Therapy: Bringing the Body into the Therapeutic Space

Somatic therapy is the approach I use to bridge the connection between body, mind, and spirit—especially when words alone aren’t enough, when the mind feels dull, or when there’s a longing to truly experience your own embodied presence. Through gentle movement, breathwork, and guided awareness, somatic therapy invites you to reclaim your body, deepen your breath, and cultivate clarity.

I encourage every individual to explore and discover what embodiment means for them. My hope is that each person finds their own unique expression, expanding into a healthier, more integrated life—for themselves, their loved ones, and their communities. Healing and hope begin with you, and continue outward as you grow in resilience and wholeness.

I offer sessions both in-person at my office in Christiansburg, Virginia, and online via Zoom, serving a global clientele. Together, we’ll shape a safe and nurturing space for you to reconnect with your body, restore balance, and reclaim your sense of amazement in being fully alive.
